Sectionals are typically measured by two main dimensions:
  • Length: This is the measurement along one side of the sectional, often referred to as the "long side" or "chaise side."
  • Depth: This is the measurement from the back of the sectional to the front, indicating how deep the seating area is.

These measurements help describe the size and configuration of the sectional, providing information on how it will fit in a living space.

For fabric upholstery, combine 1/4 cup vinegar, 3/4 warm water, and 1 tablespoon of dish soap or Castile soap. Place the mixture in a spray bottle, mist the stained area, and scrub with a soft cloth until the stain is removed.

Reupholstering a sectional couch typically costs between $1,500 and $4,000, varying based on factors like the number of sections, materials, and other considerations. The reupholstery process is done one piece at a time, allowing you to select specific sections for refurbishment rather than the entire piece if desired.

Arrange your sectional sofa in an L-shape, placing either the chaise lounge or the long section along each wall that converges at the corner. This layout optimizes the corner space, providing enhanced functionality and comfort to your living room.

To address considerable sagging in sofas, particularly older ones, contemplate strategic reinforcements. This may include adding extra legs to the center of the couch for increased support or using robust materials like plywood to establish a solid base for the cushions, alleviating the sinking sensation.

The crucial and somewhat challenging aspect is the corner of the sectional. Utilize throw pillows of 24 inches or larger for the corner, and position 20-inch throw pillows on the sides. Arrange pillows in decreasing sizes from the corner to the end, starting with a 24-inch pillow in the corner.

Position the front legs of the sectional approximately halfway on the rug, ensuring sufficient rug depth for accommodation. Opt for an 8x10 or 9x12 rug for a large sectional, while a standard-sized sectional can be complemented with a 7x9 or 8x10 rug.

Sectional sofas: Perfect for large parties or sprawling out on your day off. You can add, remove, or rearrange different sections of it to make it your own.

Take a teaspoon of washing-up liquid, white vinegar, baking soda and warm water and mix together into a lather (the mixture should froth up as the baking soda and vinegar react with one another). Then, apply directly to any stains or smudges that you can spot on your fabric sofa. Leave to dry out for around 10 minutes.

A sleeper sofa is a sofa with a mattress that pulls out and converts into a bed. The mattress is generally hidden and can either pop out or fold out. The comfort and style of a sleeper sofa will vary, and mattresses can range

Mix a 50/50 vinegar and water solution in a bowl and use a microfiber cloth to apply it to your furniture. Rub the leather in a circular motion to lift the dirt out of the natural fibers. Return your cloth to the bowl often, wringing it out and rewetting it.

Modular sofas are made up of portable sections called modules. This gives you the versatility to arrange your sofa in a range of different configurations to best suit your lifestyle and the layout of your space.

Create a calming contrast by pairing a black sofa with relaxing green hues. Kickstart the soothing vibes with an inviting recliner set. Opt for a shade like teal as an accent color. “Teal's blue-green combination makes it an invigorating choice when paired with a black sofa,” Rebecca explains

Here are a few ways you can fill that big expanse of wall over your sofa to create an impactful focal point:
  • A Large, Oversized Mirror.
  • A Grouping of Prints in Different Sizes.
  • One Large Painting.
  • A Set of Mirrors.
  • A Pair of Prints or Mirrors. ...

How to Deep-Clean Removable Couch Cushions:

  • Fill Tub with Water and Detergent.
  • Submerge Cushions in Detergent Solution.

For a modern style, fold your throw or blanket and tuck over the back of the sofa. A crisply folded throw works especially well on sofas with an angular shape. A folded throw also looks great with color block decor to add a pop of contrasting color.

Place the larger pillows at the back of the sofa and arrange smaller ones in front for a layered look.
